Sweater Lovin'

Sweater: JC Penney, Collared Shirt: Thrifted, Necklace: Gift

I hate winter. I hate driving in the snow & I hate being cold. I do, however, enjoy bulky sweaters and cozy jackets. I was pretty sure spring was here only to wake up to snow. Normally I would have had a fit, except I bought the cutest sweater at jcp's clearance sale last Saturday. I hoped right out of bed and got dressed.

Collars under sweaters? Obsessed. Seriously, OBSESSED.

Afternoon Golf

Cameron and I went golfing, yet again. We played 9 holes at mulligans and had a B-L-A-S-T.
Cameron scored a 48.
So did I.

That's right, girlfriend can hang.

I'm SO happy to have my old man home. I missed him so much.

Blessings of the Priesthood

Sometimes the priesthood seems unfamiliar to me. I think it's because my dad has never had the priesthood.  I never had a father's blessing or a blessing because I was sick or anything like that.
In fact,  the only blessings I've ever received were my patriarchal blessing and a back-to-school blessing Bishop Donat gave me before I started college.
I have a testimony of the priesthood & of blessings, but sometimes I forget that I am "entitled" to the blessings of that power.

There's a lot going on right now in my work place. I won't go into detail, but it has caused me a lot of sadness and even more stress. I am a wreck. Yesterday, my sweet sweet fiance gave me a blessing to comfort me.

I can't even explain what that blessing meant to me. I feel so completely in awe that I am marrying a man worthy of that power. Worthy to act in the name of God. I feel so blessed. I am so grateful to have a priesthood holder in my home and to be able to spend my life with him. My heart is so full.

Wisdom teeth weekend

I completed a right of passage this weekend - I got my wisdom teeth out.
I'm a bit older than  most people are when they get their wisdom teeth out, but I was nervous nonetheless.
Cam cam took me to the dentist early Friday morning. We checked in and then they took us back into the "operating" room. Cameron stayed with me as they put me out.
When I woke up, I was in a different room with a big blanket over me. I started crying immediately and Cameron calmed me down. Apparently they had done the surgery and it was time for me to go home.
Anesthesia is weird stuff.
Cameron drove me home and then went to get my prescriptions. He came home with flowers and pudding.
I spent the rest of the day on the couch with my flowers. That boy spoils me.

My surgery was weird. Neither of my parents took me - instead my husband took care of me. That just still seems so weird. He was so sweet to me and took such great care of me.

On Saturday I was feeling much better. Swollen & everything I went to the DI and got some great deals. I was on a mission for cute shorts that were long enough for garments.
When Cameron got home from work he took me golfing at mulligans. We had a blast teasing each other and working on our swings. After our golfing adventure we stopped at cold stone for ice cream then drove to our  new neighborhood to stalk our grocery stores.

A little place named Puerto Rico

My brother leaves for basic training in July & I'm getting married in May.
In the span of less than three months my parents will become empty-nesters. As exciting as everything is, my parenting are becoming sad that they are "losing" their children.
My dad planned a family cruise in March as one last "hoorah" before everyone moves out.
It was the best vacation we've ever had.

Our ship stopped in one of my favorite places in the entire world - Puerto Rico.
It was hot and simply amazing.

notice that cute little smudge on the top? ya...I just did.
I have something on my lens and didn't notice until after I took a bunch of pictures.
Let's see if I can't it fixed for the next vacation.

an introduction

welcome to a lady & a gent.

If you are new, I'm excited to have you! I hope you'll like it here.
His name is Cameron & mine is Kayla.
We met in high school and fell in love.
He left on a mission and I waited for him.
He came home two years later and asked me to marry him.
I said "yes" and can't wait to be a wife.
That's about it...

If you are an old timer, I'm so glad you were able to make the move. Welcome to the new blog! I promise to update it weekly & take way too many pictures. I'm no longer a "waiting girl" (woo hoo).

Here's to a new adventure.

This blog is the story of our lives together.
